Gov. Mitt Romney Endorses GROW Elect

San Diego – Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican Nominee for President of the United States, today added his weight to the innovative effort to elect more Latino Republicans to office in California. The Governor formally endorsed GROW Elect, a political committee dedicated to recruiting, training and funding Latino Republican candidates seeking local and state office in the Golden State.

“We have to do a better job of bringing Hispanic voters in to vote for Republicans. GROW Elect is working to strengthen the party by supporting qualified Hispanic Republican candidates, and taking our message to Hispanic voters. Through their efforts, GROW Elect helps Hispanic voters understand that we are the party with the ideas that will make their lives better. GROW Elect is taking our message to them and showing that ours is the party of opportunity,” declared Governor Romney.

GROW Elect President Ruben Barrales responded to the Governor’s endorsement by saying that, “We are grateful to have the Governor’s support for our work to strengthen and expand the Republican Party in the largest state in the nation. We are committed to a Republican Party that is inclusive and that aggressively seeks to represent all Californians in every community of this state. Governor Romney’s confidence in GROW Elect is an honor and offers us a meaningful boost in this important election year.”

Governor Romney joins former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Governor Jeb Bush, former White House Senior Advisor Karl Rove, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, California Republican Party Chairman Jim Brulte, State Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff and Assembly Republican Leader Connie Conway, among others, in formally endorsing and supporting GROW Elect.
